Heartwood Wellness Co. was founded in West Michigan, on the ancestral, traditional, and contemporary lands of the Anishinaabek People of the Three Fires: the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Bodéwadmi. As a guest on this land, I acknowledge that my life, safety, and business directly benefit from the systemic displacement and destruction of Indigenous peoples and their ways of life. I recognize that I inherit the material privileges of settler colonialism perpetrated by my ancestors—a legacy that carries through in my body today. Grounded in this truth, I commit to honoring life, land, and water through conscious learning, supporting Indigenous sovereignty, and the deliberate practice of good stewardship.
